Singles Club

Singles Club is a box set (or digital download) released by American rock band Paramore.^[1] The songs are to be released as singles between October and December 2011, culminating in the release of a box set containing the three constituent songs plus "Monster", which was recorded during the same sessions.

EP information

On January 14, Paramore posted the song "In the Mourning" on youtube. The song only involved singing and a guitar when it was first posted and so Davis was not involved yet. But the song was still a work in progress and Williams and York came up with ideas on how to make it sound better and how to put it onto their computer. Near the end of the video, they played the song on what they had so far. It was not fully finished as when released on The Singles Club EP, it had an extra six lines of lyrics. The song was played for the first time live on their South American Tour in early 2011.

On September 7, Paramore played live at the fifteenth anniversary of their record label, Fueled By Ramen performing their new song "Renegade" and "In the Mourning" with an extract of a paragraph of "Landslide" by "Fleetwood Mac". "Renegade" was the first song released off the singles club from the paramore website. Before this Renegade was already available to listen to online but it was only a seven second snippet at the start of their "From the Field" videos which follows Hayley, Jeremy and Taylor on the Summer Warped Tour. When they finished playing "In the Mourning", Williams announced that this song along with some other songs would be released before the end of the year.

"Thank you so much. Goodness. Well if you liked that [In the Mourning], were gonna release it later this year for you guys to have. Hey we promised you right? We promised we'd put some new songs out"

On October 11, the band announced they would be releasing a new EP which would be only available directly from their official website. "Renegade" was released on October 11, "Hello Cold World" on November 7 and "In the Mourning"

"For months now, we've promised that we'd be releasing some new songs before the end of the year. Well, here is where we finally make good on all of that. We are very happy to announce the Paramore Singles Club that will be happening throughout the rest of the year. This club is our way of getting these songs directly to the Paramore family[...]."

On the 11 November, some of the first images of the Singles Club Box Set were posted online.

Live performances

Not too long after it was posted online, "In the Mourning" was played Live on Paramore's South American tour and along with 'Renegade", was played at the Fueled by Ramen 15th Anniversary Concert at Terminal 5 In New York City. "Monster", which is available with the Singles Club boxset but not with the download from the website, was also played at the anniversary and was played on many of paramores concerts that they did after the release of the song. Since the release of "Hello Cold World", it still has not been played live yet, but will probably be some time in the future.
